Ford, I think you should rename your line of turbocharged engines. A small change, but I think it would help sell, especially to enthusiasts. You should call it "Eco or Boost". When on the throttle these engines become very thirsty monsters.

But... that's like being large or in charge.

But "and" is better

Isn't every car thirsty when you step on it?

"Eco/Boost"? Slashes in names make them cooler: Fact.

Yes, but an F150 pulling a heavy load will be more fuel efficient if you have the V8 trim rather than the Eco-boost trim.
When the boost kicks in, each pony you get requires more fuel then a similarly powered n/a vehicle.

nothing like a turbo motor.

Unfortunately, their lineup doesn't deliver "and"

This is what you get from a major corporation's marketing team . They've been pissing off engineers with nonsensical nomenclature since they took over most big companies in the 1980s. Checkout BMW's current 740i...yeah...3.0 liter i-6 underhood, nothing 4.0 about it.

Eco/Boost.
Fixed!

Actually the biggest gripe with the F150 ecodrink from Ford service managers. When you work it (who works a truck?) it really puts away the fuel. Who would've guessed?

Eco Lightning Bolt B oost

But it is much more fuel efficient when off boost. So on average, you are saving fuel. Unless all your trips are drag races up steep hills, you are probably better off right?

It's more efficient if you're using the truck as a grocery getter... which if fuel efficiency is that big of a concern, a truck shouldn't be on the list. If you're using it to do any sort of truck work then it's less efficient (especially if you permanently load it down with tools/welders/slip tank etc) it's not just when hauling up a steep hill with a load.

E-co*cks-Boost? That's how all the kids would read it...

Make some sense. I guess the know their market.
